Growth estimates: what the dotted line means

A transparent explanation of Baby Track’s projections and their limits.

An estimate built from your entries

Baby Track’s growth projection uses recorded measurements and approximate standard-deviation scores relative to WHO reference data. Recent points receive more weight in the projection. This is an app calculation, not a measurement of your baby’s future growth.

What the line assumes

The calculation projects a position relative to the reference curve. That assumption may not match what happens next. A new measurement can change the estimate. The app does not establish that its projections are clinically validated or give a guaranteed future size.

Use it for planning, with room for error

Clothing estimates are an optional planning aid. Check actual fit and a brand’s size chart before buying. For a growth concern, use recorded measurements and a professional assessment, not the projected line. Keep estimated and measured values distinct when talking about the chart.
